Jobs Tracker — frequently asked questions

The questions UK contractors ask before they trial Jobs Tracker, answered directly — including the things it does not do. If yours is not here, ask us and we will answer it properly.

What is Jobs Tracker?

Jobs Tracker is field-operations software for UK contractors. The office schedules engineers, quotes work and approves timesheets in a web app; engineers get a phone app that shows today’s jobs, records tap-in and tap-out on site, captures photos, materials and variations, and takes RAMS sign-off before work starts.

Who is Jobs Tracker for?

UK lift, electrical, mechanical, building maintenance and renewables contractors running roughly 10 to 200 field engineers. It is a company tool bought by the business — engineers get an account from their employer rather than signing up themselves.

How much does Jobs Tracker cost?

Pricing is per month and scales with the size of your team. The pricing page carries a calculator that gives a monthly figure once you enter how many people and vans you have, and you can start a free trial without giving card details.

Is there a mobile app for engineers?

Yes. Engineers install Jobs Tracker on their phone from the browser and it behaves like any other app — full screen, on the home screen, with large touch targets that work while wearing gloves. Native iOS and Android builds exist and are being prepared for the app stores.

Does Jobs Tracker work offline?

Partly, and the difference matters. In the phone-installed web app, jobs already loaded stay readable with no signal and actions are queued and sent when connectivity returns. In the native app builds, reads work offline but a tap-in made with no signal is not queued — the app tells the engineer rather than implying it synced.

Does Jobs Tracker handle RAMS sign-off?

Yes, and it is enforced by the server rather than hidden in the interface. A RAMS document is attached to the job, the engineer reads and signs it on the phone, and work on that job cannot be started until they have. Templates are held per company, existing RAMS PDFs can be imported, and individual engineers can be exempted from specific templates.

Which accounting systems does Jobs Tracker export to?

Sage 50 and Xero. The Sage export carries cost codes and per-worker resource IDs rather than being a flat dump, and Xero exports cover timesheets and sales invoices as CSV. Everything is also available as CSV. There is no QuickBooks integration.

Can Jobs Tracker connect to our vehicle trackers?

The live map is fed from a telematics connector, so seeing vans on it needs a tracker feed, and a connector is built and being rolled out. Separately, and with no tracker at all, the engineers’ phones produce the journey reconstruction, the distance behind the carbon figures and the accuracy grade on every tap-in. Other tracker vendors are supported on request rather than as off-the-shelf connectors — tell us which system you run and we will confirm before you commit.

Does Jobs Tracker support single sign-on or two-factor authentication?

Not today. Customer users sign in with an email address and password. Single sign-on, SAML and two-factor authentication are not available, which is worth raising early if your security policy requires them.

Is our data kept separate from other customers?

Yes. Every record is scoped to your organisation, the database layer filters every read by tenant, and a write that would cross into another tenant is rejected rather than saved. Every change is written to an audit log kept for seven years, and each worker’s own data can be exported on request.

Can we use our own branding and web address?

Yes. Each customer gets their own subdomain, colours, logo and typeface, and the branding carries through to the app the engineers use — so it reads as your company’s tool rather than ours.

More detail on what the product covers is on the field service management software page, and the systems it connects to are listed under integrations.
